Introductory Classes
Autumn 2019

Adult and Teen Introductory Classes will begin in September. If you are interested in Aikido, Weapons, or Iaido - this is the ideal moment to start your training.

A beginners series will start at these times:
  • Aikido 11:45 AM and 7:30 PM (Tuesday, September 3rd)
  • Weapons 6:30 PM (Tuesday, September 3rd)
  • Iaido 6:30 PM (Wednesday, September 4th)
An introductory series is specifically oriented towards new students. It's designed to develop people with little or no experience in martial arts. You will learn basic movements, techniques, and conditioning methods - we will teach you from square one.





Joining the Dojo

No martial arts background or experience is necessary. You just need to be interested in trying this dynamic art! Classes are generally open to people who are 13 years and older. Even though Aikido is quite physical and requires stamina, no need to worry about that; our classes are demanding but we always respect everyone’s abilities and limitations.


Aikido Startup package

For new students, Montérégie Aikikai offers an Aikido Startup package. This package includes a training uniform, registration, and one month of unlimited Aikido classes, including access to our specially designed Fundamentals classes. These Fundamentals classes are an excellent way to start your Aikido practice by building a foundation that will prepare you for further training.

Regular membership dues are $125 per month or $75 for teens. The Aikido Startup package is offered for $195, or $145 for teens, and includes one month of unlimited classes, registration, and a high-quality training uniform, a $255 value.

No experience necessary. Everyone starts out as a beginner! Be sure to come to the dojo before your first class to register, meet the instructors, and observe a class. What to bring to your first class...
  • Loose, comfortable clothing (jogging pants and a short or long-sleeved t-shirt are perfect.)
  • A bag to hold your street clothes.
  • A bottle of water.
  • A small towel or face cloth (you will sweat a lot!)
What to do after your first class…
  • Drink water and stretch your body.
  • Take a hot bath to relax your muscles.
  • Get some rest (a good night of sleep, 7-9 hours.)
  • Come back for more!
