Come and discover a gentle martial art with your child!

Hello! We're a family who work professionally in the field of martial arts in Longueuil and would like to share our passion with other families!

Come and practice the principles of breathing and martial movements that benefit body and mind, and enjoy some quality parent-child time with other families! 🙂💞

This class serves as an opportunity for movement, to have fun, to strengthen your ability to self-regulate (regain your calm), to invest in your parent-child bond, to reconnect with your body and with a philosophical base of kindness.

We look forward to training with you!

WHAT TO BRING

ABOUT AIKIDO

Aikido is a non-competitive and non-brutal martial art from Japan developed early in the 20th century by O Sensei; Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969). It is derived from traditional martial art forms, with movements that are flexible, rational, and efficient. The fundamental principle of Aikido is to evade, redirect or neutralize an attack by using an opponent's force against themselves. The practice of Aikido should coordinate and develop the mind, body, and spirit.

ABOUT MONTÉRÉGIE AIKIKAI DOJO

Montérégie Aikikai was founded to serve the Montérégie, Montréal south-shore, and surrounding areas by offering instruction in the discipline of Aikido, with an emphasis on physical and personal development. Over the years we have built a community where people from all backgrounds may develop themselves through training together.

Note: in addition to Aikido, the dojo also offers serious training in the complementary arts of Iaido (the traditional martial art of Japanese swordsmanship, with meditation, solo practice) and weapons (wooden sword and stick, partner practice). Contact us for introductory course information.
