Aikido Seminar
with
Sharon Dominguez Sensei
November 22nd and 23rd, 2024
We invite you to join us for an Aikido seminar with Sharon Dominguez Sensei of the New York Aikikai. The seminar will take place at our dojo on Montreal's South Shore. All are welcome!
About our guest
I was introduced to aikido by Masahilo M. Nakazono in 1984 when I became his student in natural medicine and the practice of kototama. I trained informally in aikido and weapons until I joined the New York Aikikai in 1989 (or was it 1988?). It was there that I began to train seriously and rigorously. In 1991, I started driving Yamada Shihan, Sugano Shihan, and Donovan Waite Shihan to seminars in the Northeast. I became an instructor in 1996 and served as the head instructor at NYU from 1996 until the end of 2000. I taught my first seminar abroad in Peru in 1998. Since then, I have taught in the U.S. and worldwide, including in Cuba and Japan. Nowadays, I am the President of the Board of the NY Aikikai. When I teach, I love to share everything I have learned from the senseis I was privileged to be exposed to over the years. However, my favorite thing is still my daily training—that is where the transformation happens.
