Aikido Seminar

We invite you to join us for an aikido seminar with Yoko Okamoto Sensei from Aikido Kyoto. The seminar will be held in downtown Montréal at a large and centrally located university sports center. We will have 360 tatamis. All are welcome!

U33 Young Adults Class* (Okamoto/Layton),
6:30-8 pm (Okamoto)
Saturday 11 am-1 pm (Okamoto),
3-5 pm (Okamoto)
Sunday 11 am-1 pm (Okamoto)
*For ages 33 and under, ranked 2nd kyu and over. No charge if registered for 1 class or more.

The rates are in Canadian dollars (C$). Please register in advance. For late registrations after March 22nd, and at the door, add 20$ (if places remain available).

Party
A dinner party is organized for Saturday night. Please indicate if you wish to join when completing your seminar registration. Limited availability, so sign up without delay!
Transportation
The seminar location is very close to Berri–UQAM station, which is the Montréal Metro system's central station. Also, the airport bus (747) has stops within a 5-minute walk from our seminar location as well as both hotels mentioned below. For those driving in, the Autoroute 720, Ville-Marie Expressway has exits nearby.

We have arranged group rates at the following hotels. Both are a short walk from the training hall.

8 minutes walk from the seminar. Note that in-building parking is available, however, it is limited to vehicles with a maximum height of 5'7". A good alternative for indoor parking from this hotel is the Stationnement de la Grande Bibliothèque, a short walking distance away (the maximum vehicle height there is 2.03 meters, roughly six and a half feet.)

Travel to Canada

FAQ
I'm not a member of the USAF. Can I attend the seminar? Yes. Our public events are open to students of any Aikido affiliation.
I'm not able to practice right now. Can I come and watch? Yes. If you are unable to practice but wish to observe, we request that you make a donation towards the seminar. Thanks for your interest and support!
I will be arriving a couple of days early. Would it be OK to join you for practice before the seminar? Yes. Please inform us in advance and include your name, your grade, the name of your instructor, and the classes that you wish to attend.
